Meet the Team

  • Founder

Supervisor, Counsellor, Trainer & Reiki Practitioner

Nature lover, hiker, cyclist, self-care devotee

“Having followed various career paths since leaving college, I finally found my vocation in life back in 2006 when I followed my heart and made the decision to study to become a counsellor.

Since qualifying in 2008, I have worked as a counsellor in a variety of educational settings across East Lancashire and Greater Manchester, using my skills to enable children and young adults to overcome their personal difficulties and identify the tools that they need to increase their resilience and self-belief.

In 2010 I returned to management, with my roles including Healing Centre Manager, Children’s Counselling Service Manager and more recently, Deputy Chief Officer for an adult mental health charity. With six years safeguarding lead experience I have been able to provide training and guidance to frontline mental health staff.

I am passionate about self-care and I promote an holistic approach when it comes to matters of the mind, body and soul. I encourage reflective practice to enable positive change to personal values, organisational policies and work/life balance.

In 2022 I qualified as a Clinical Supervisor and I am now working as a private practitioner providing counselling, Reiki healing, supervision and training. I offer an integrative and creative approach in all areas of my work and to all age groups. My supervisory clients include counsellors and care professionals working for both public and private sector organisations.

    Feedback from both clients and peers includes;

Helen provides a warm, safe and supportive space that encourages positive growth

  • Trainer

MSc. FHEA, P.G. Dip MBACP (Accred.), NCS (Accred.):

“ I am a qualified Trainer, Supervisor and Psychotherapist with 27 years’ experience in the field of psychological therapies.

I have written and delivered training throughout the UK, including writing for the PG Dip/MA Integrative Psychotherapy and IAPT Counselling for Depression, and PCE-CfD Supervision Training, all whilst in my role as Senior Lecturer for The University of Central Lancashire. I am currently an Associate Lecturer with Warwick University.

All training designed and/or delivered for statutory and charitable organisations, originates from the request of the organisation. Examples of these would be Women’s Centre, Place2Be, Sure Start, Priory Psychiatric Hospital, a Drama Academy, Spiritual Concepts (USA) and various NHS Trusts, Charities, Schools & Colleges within the UK

Training is specifically designed to each request. The knowledge underpinning the design combines theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, grounded in psychotherapeutic work with adults and children. The model of training integrates an experiential person-centred philosophy, expressive arts, and Gestalt teachings. I believe that all individuals, given a safe space, can discover authentic, innate aspects of self which are intrinsic to the encouragement of emotional maturation and psychological well-being. “

  • I have an optimistic view of human nature and believe that, given a safe space in which to gently explore, we can all increase our self awareness and work to better understand and resolve inner conflicts.

I will work with you, providing an environment where you feel heard, and building trust between us so that you feel safe to reflect on your feelings and experiences,  providing appropriate interventions and gentle challenge to help you to move forward.

I believe that you are the expert on you, and that having a qualified counsellor to walk alongside you as you examine your feelings and experiences, can allow you the freedom to consider new perspectives.

    Feedback from clients includes:

Claire helped me to process deep rooted feelings and to see how my life was not as awful as I played it out in my mind, she very cleverly lets you tell yourself how to heal, when we finished our last session, Claire summarised our journey, she’d listened, understood and empathised while making me feel heard and valued! I feel extremely lucky to have been in such great hands, thank you. ‘

    October 2023

‘Working with Claire over the last few months has really helped me to see things much clearer and in a new light. I felt safe, supported and heard every week and slowly over time, I've learnt to recognise behaviours I was displaying as well as ways to overcome and deal with these. It's been a game-changer and I would highly recommend Claire for anyone who is feeling 'stuck' and looking to change previous patterns. Thank you!’

  • My name is Emma, I enjoy running, walking, and being in nature. I am a spiritual enthusiast who is enthusiastic about meditation, reiki, yoga and self-care.

I am passionate about providing a safe and non-judgemental space for individuals to explore their emotions and find healing. As an integrative holistic therapist, I believe that not one type of therapy fits all, therefore bringing in techniques from different modalities of therapy such as CBT, person centred, psychodynamic and gestalt. My approach blends evidence-based techniques with a compassionate understanding of each client’s unique journey. I am able to work with clients on a range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, work issues, relationship issues, health issues, stress, emotional abuse, bereavement, trauma, self-harm, and many more.

It can be a daunting experience deciding to take the step into counselling, therefore I aim to make the counselling space as comfortable as possible. As a therapist I provide a safe and confidential space where clients can open up and together, we can explore the difficult feelings and emotions that may arise. I will walk alongside you with any issues that you are carrying, and together we will find the best solution that is right for you. I believe everyone has their own answers and I will help you find yours.

I offer in person and online therapy, as well as walk and talk, sessions last for 1 hour.
